...more about the artist. A self-taught artist, Cynthia began drawing at the age of 5, her favorite subject matter was anything animal. She progressed to black ink and brush painting at age 15, but it wasn’t until college that she developed her love for expression in color. In 1992, Cynthia took part in an overseas study program and moved to Barcelona, Spain. There she studied the works of Antonio Gaudi, an architect whose work included the use of colorful tiles on organic forms. As she worked in colored pencil to capture graceful curves and brilliant hues on paper, she fell in love with color and the free, unconventional expression it inspired. Though it wasn’t until three years later that Cynthia began painting with acrylics she’s never looked back since. Inside those small tubes filled with brilliant color she found her muse and her imagination was set free. Cynthia lives in the Santa Cruz Mountains where she owns and operates Bingo! Dog Training; a positive reinforcement organization that shows people how to train and raise dogs with compassion, understanding and fun.
